Location We are offering a hybrid working pattern to combine home and studio, your studio days will be in either Leeds or Manchester, depending which location is closest to home

Working Hours Full Time, Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, Permanent Contract

Role purpose

You are passionate about packaging, innovating with technology & process and also driving efficiencies, to deliver the highest quality Artwork Files.
With these ideals you will oversee the day-to-day work of the team in your “pod”, ensuring standards are met and quality is achieved. Providing studio production support to your team, you will maintain strong communication, working with all members within the group to deliver on client requests in a timely and effective manner.
You’ll support and work with the Production Manager in delivering strategic initiatives and plans into the studio. You’ll also identify and drive innovations in technology for continual improvement throughout the business… all whilst maintaining an artworker role within the team to contribute towards delivery..

1. Work Management – focus on work

  • Responsible for your team and their work outputs
  • People management of the team day to day – Holiday sign off – PDPs (reviews and 1-2-1s) – providing support and mentoring to develop the team, to drive increasing levels of quality to deliver a world-class service
  • Training/GAP analysis of your team – analysis, reviewing, development, implementation and training monitoring, to ensure the team have all the tools they need to deliver excellence
  • Work with the Production Manager to feed in strategic plans, coordinating the creation of support documentation
  • Lead the team meetings, setting clear agenda and action points, aligning with strategic plans set with the Production Manager

2. Studio Support and Collaboration

  • Point of contact for Production, Client Delight and Tech teams for the production studio
  • Working in collaboration with Production manager to deliver work on-time, whilst sourcing suitable freelance resource
  • Ensure communication and workflows runs effectively throughout the studio
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the various Aire Pillars, as well as strategic partners such as Daena

3. Quality Systems and Management

  • Continually review QA process and procedures and identify areas of improvement relating to Production for both existing and new business, supported by the creation of necessary support documentation for quality systems
  • Work with Implementation Manager to implement any changes and improvements
  • Lead and investigate client and internal errors driving corrective and preventative actions
  • Ensure teams have accurate timesheet data and reports – Production reports
  • Instil a right first time culture to deliver excellence in design

4. Innovation and continual improvement

  • Help identify, explore and implement technology and process to elevate the business performance to the next level, keeping Production ahead of the competition, delivering excellence
  • Work closely with the Production Manager, Production Director and Technology Director to assist with identifying opportunities for tech innovation for existing and new work streams, specifically in semi-automated/automated workflows
  • Drive studio teams to assist with testing and rollout of tech innovation
  • Support team with aligning on technology strategy
  • Support change management with a mentality for change, using technology-driven initiatives

Experience
Proven track record in Packaging/Brand Management
Proven track record of delivery to global brand owners
Understanding and appreciation of production and capacity management
Understanding and utilisation of MIS and workflow management
Experience in motivating teams and developing colleagues or working relationships

Knowledge
Excellent and up to date print technical understanding
Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Illustrator and Photoshop
Strong understanding of artwork production and printing processes
Technical understanding of print processes and production

Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent in graphic design or other comparable qualification

Will provide cover for other Leads as and when needed

This role requires regular client-facing and field meetings and the flexibility to operate within the client environment during the working week
