Role Purpose
We are looking for an experienced back-end developer to join our innovative software startup. You will be responsible for the server-side of our web applications acting as part of a small, yet fast-paced team.
If you have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing applications and/or improving existing ones, we would like to meet you! As a back-end developer, you’ll work closely with our development team to ensure system consistency and improve user experience.
Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications to meet our company’s needs.

Requirements and skills

  • Commercial experience as a PHP developer.
  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance).
  • Hands-on experience with object oriented methodologies in PHP.
  • An ability to write, optimise and execute SQL queries to extract reports from large datasets.
  • An understanding of HTML5/CSS3/JQuery technologies, W3C web standards and accessibility guidelines in UX.
  • Some recent commercial experience of developing, maintaining and releasing custom PHP applications in live environments.
  • General understanding of LAMP installations, with an ability to maintain configuration files, write simple bash scripts or install security patches.
  • A keen interest in emerging technologies and some understanding of well known security vulnerabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.
  • Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualifications.
